in illo tempore, meaning the time between time, or time in between time, mythic timelessness.

There is both reference to the Greek Eleusinian Mysteries pertaining to the mother-daughter relationship of Demeter and Persephone.  In the mythology, when Persephone was abducted by Hades and taken below, and her mother could get no assistance from Zeus or the other gods, Demeter as the goddess of grain withheld her bounty so that the gods would not have their grain-tributes, which of course upset them.  Finally, Persephone was rescued, although still the bride of Hades, and unfortunately, on her way out she ate from a pomegranate tree, the fruit of the dead, and as such, those seeds forever rooted Persephone in Hades, so that for eternity, she would spend half her life above ground and half her life below--each year when she returns, Spring commences.

In my Tarot consideration, I have the Queen of Disks representing Demeter and the Queen of Hearts representing Persephone.

This piece has a secret side, representing what's on the other side of the door, who's peeping back.  If you don't know about it, it remains the mystery, but if you do, then the next question will address the key to the mystery ("le mot de l'enigme"), and only the observer can answer for the Self.
